New Delhi: With increasing competition in the smartphone market in China, Apple has been forced to drastically cut the prices of its iPhones.

The company is offering discounts of up to 2,300 Yuan (approximately ₹26,485) on some models on its official website Tmall.

This discount is double the discount given in February.

The move has been taken by Apple to boost its declining sales in China and counter increasing competition from rivals such as Huawei.

Discount:

iPhone 15: 1,400 Yuan (₹16,121) discount on 128GB variant
iPhone 15 Pro: 1,700 Yuan (₹19,564) discount on 128GB variant
iPhone 15 Pro Max: 2,300 Yuan (₹26,485) discount on 1TB variant

Increasing competition from Huawei:

After the release of Huawei Mate 60 in August last year, Huawei launched a new series of high-end smartphones, Huawei P70, last month, increasing the pressure on Apple.

Apple’s sales improvement:

According to a Reuters report, Apple’s shipments to China increased by 12% in March.

This is a big improvement compared to the last 2 months of 2024, as Apple’s sales declined by 37% before that.

Amid increasing competition in the smartphone market in China, Apple is having to cut the prices of its iPhones.
