OnePlus 12R vs OnePlus 11R: It’s a great time to be a OnePlus fan, as the company recently unveiled its latest 12 series, which includes the OnePlus 12 and that phone the OnePlus 12R.
Launched as the successor to the ever-popular OnePlus 11R, the latest generation model offers some serious specs compared to its older brother. Is this phone a worthy successor to the 11R We consider the five biggest upgrades that make the OnePlus 12R a true contender in its price segment.

This one comes straight from OnePlus. This is no rumour as the OnePlus 12R could sport the same display size as the OnePlus 11R along with 1.5K resolution, but the new OLED display will be sporting a higher peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
Rumours also suggest the display could sport 2160Hz PWM dimming for eye safety, just like the OnePlus 12. This one comes as a wild rumour but if this turns out true, it’s going to be amazing.
So, once again, we might get to see a 50MP primary rear camera on the OnePlus 12R as the OnePlus 11R, but the 8MP ultra-wide camera of the 11R could be swapped for a 32MP IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom on the OnePlus 12R.

With the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, expect to see faster LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 options on the OnePlus 12R. And if the OnePlus 11R Solar Red edition is anything to go by, don’t be surprised to see an 18GB RAM variant or even a 24GB RAM variant.
Now, to keep up with the prolonged gaming sessions, the battery is also expected to see a bump from 5,000mAh to 5,500mAh on the OnePlus 12R. And if that’s not enough, there will still be 100W fast wired charging, like the OnePlus 11R. One change we are very excited about is the inclusion of a metal frame on the OnePlus 12R.
Because, for the price and features, the OnePlus 11R was an almost perfect phone. We say this because, as good as the phone was, the plastic frame was a turn-off. But, if OnePlus manages to price the OnePlus 12R just right, and with the metal frame, and the glass back, this one would be just perfect.
