OPPO Find X7 Ultra Camera: We were recently invited by OPPO to Shenzhen, China, to get hands-on with their latest flagship, the Find X7 Ultra. While it’s currently exclusive to the Chinese market, this smartphone is turning heads for its remarkable camera system.

Let’s take a closer look at what makes the OPPO Find X7 Ultra’s camera features stand out. While high-resolution cameras are impressive, excessive HDR processing can often lead to unnatural-looking photos with blown-out highlights and crushed shadows.

Oppo tackles this issue head-on with their new HyperTone Image Engine. This AI-powered technology aims to deliver a more natural and realistic approach to HDR photography.

Ultra-Wide Camera – 14mm

The Find X7 Ultra’s ultra-wide camera packs a large 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with a size of 1/1.95 inches. This sensor is complemented by a new f/2.0 aperture lens, which is among the fastest available for ultra-wide cameras on smartphones.

This pairing aims to capture exceptional images by carefully balancing highlights, detail, exposure, and accurate colors, all while delivering the signature wide field of view characteristic of ultra-wide lenses.

Wide Camera – 23mm

The OPPO Find X7 Ultra boasts a 2nd generation 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor. This 1-inch sensor is the first of its kind designed specifically for smartphones.

Compared to the prior Sony IMX989 sensor, OPPO says that it offers 32% better efficiency, allowing for more advanced computational photography techniques on a phone with a 1-inch sensor.

The phone is equipped with a custom-designed 1G7P lens, which OPPO claims can reduce lens reflection by 50%. This pairing is designed to maximize the capabilities of the 1-inch sensor, delivering superior image quality.

Telephoto – 65mm

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra breaks new ground by being the first phone to sport two periscope zoom cameras. The first of these lenses offers 3x zoom and utilizes a large 50MP IMX890 sensor measuring 1/1.56 inches.

This sensor is paired with a fast f/2.6 aperture, aiming to deliver high-quality telephoto photos in both well-lit and low-light environments. Additionally, the lens boasts a minimum focus distance of 25 centimeters, allowing you to capture detailed close-up shots and product photos.

Telephoto – 135mm

The Find X7 Ultra pushes telephoto capabilities further with its all-new 6x periscope zoom lens. This lens boasts a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor and a 135mm focal length, making it ideal for capturing distant objects and creating telephoto portraits.

Oppo has also included a new AI zoom feature that leverages large-model AI technology to enhance image clarity at higher zoom levels. While the maximum digital zoom reaches 120x, the AI zoom aims to deliver good image quality even at significant zoom ranges like 20x or 30x.

Hasselblad Pro Mode: This beloved feature, now leveraging the power of HyperTone, offers even more control over manual capture, allowing you to unleash your inner professional photographer.
